Your First Visit
First, THANK
YOU for your interest in Heart Lake Baptist Church. We want
to give you a quick look at what you can expect as you come
to meet us. You will be welcomed by our Greeters and they
will be glad to offer you any assistance you need. Also,
you can pick up a Welcome Package at the Welcome Center in
the foyer as you enter the church. This will introduce
you to our congregation and highlight different ministries,
please pick one up.
This Fall we are continuing our One Worship Service at 10 am
till the end of October. Nursery and Toddler care provided
plus a children's program for up to Grade 5.
On Nov. 6th we will begin having two main
services on Sunday at 9am and 11am. During both services
there will be nursery and
toddlers care (Age 3) in the classroom on the main floor.
DiscoverLand (up to Grade 5) will be during the 11am Worship
Service only. The Jr. High (Gr.
6-8) & Sr. High (Gr. 9-12) meet for their teaching time during the
11am worship
service.
We know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions. How do I get there and when do I need to arrive? … What should I wear or bring? … What’s available for my kids? … What should I expect in church? Here is a quick look at what you can expect and we look forward to meeting you soon. …
How do I get there and when do I need to arrive?
We are located in Brampton, Ontario conveniently one and a half blocks north of Bovaird Drive on the east side of Kennedy Road. (#10245)
Arrive about 10-15 minutes before the service time to allow for parking.
Dress comfortably. While some attendees do wear their "Sunday best," most folks wear casual and comfortable clothes on Sunday morning. Don't worry about what you wear-just come expecting a great experience!
If you have a Bible, bring it with you to church. Our Pastor will refer to scripture during his teaching time in the service. There are Bibles in the sanctuary chairs that are there for your use and to take home with you if you don’t own a Bible.
We know that as a parent you need to be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. Our Christian Education Department has worked hard to provide strength in both of these areas. Your child’s learning time will be one of creative engagement with the teachings of the Scripture and how they can be applied to your child’s life now.
What About
Security?
We take child safety and security seriously. Every
teacher or assistant that volunteers with children and youth
must successfully go through a process that is outlined in
our Protection Policy. This includes an
interview/application, yearly workshop and a regular police
check.
A foyer
monitor provides additional security to ensure the safety of
every attendee.
Each child (Gr.
5 and under) must
be registered before entering a children's program and be
signed in/out. If your baby is in the nursery, they
will be received and cared for with loving, gentle hands and
we will give you a monitoring device so that you can be
contacted at any time if you are needed.

What should I expect in church?
Our
congregation has people from many nations and we gather
together to join in joyful songs of praise, as well as more
reflective songs led by a worship band. Opportunity is
given in most services to share items of praise and/or
concern before we pray together. Often there will be drama,
special music or a visual component to our services that
facilitates our engagement with God and His Word. Each
Sunday there is a teaching time that seeks to help us grow
in understanding and applying the Bible to our lives. It
is our prayer that each Sunday we will connect with our
triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and experience more
of His love and truth that changes our lives.
